Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic Dentistry involves using tooth coloured materials to add onto and adjust teeth that may be undesirable due to their shaping, sizing and whether they have stains or old fillings.
Composites – composites are a very cost effective option of restoration and come in a variety of colours with increasing ability to mimic/reflect the tooth’s natural shade in the restoration.
Porcelains – Porcelains generally have higher aesthetic value than the composites. Alumina porcelains are often used for the front teeth and are more translucent. Zirconia porcelains are stronger but less translucent and often used on back teeth and implants.
Fractures
In many cases, a patient many fall, have an accident or simply just bite something too hard and a piece of tooth may fracture. Have no fear, our Dentists are well qualified to fix these fractures and chips, some fixes may rely on needing a small stabilizing pin placed in the the filling to strengthen it. Fillings come in many different types, you may choose to go for a tooth coloured filling or for a silver amalgam filling.
Erosion
Erosion is unfortunately very common in today’s society and once started can lead to serious problems for a tooth’s stability and strength. However there is no need to worry as Erosion is fixable.
